Most (CE) 28.2023 Another weekend with twist and turns for Academy Motorsport but despite an unfortunate Sunday Academy Motorsport returns from Most with important results and points after the race weekend of the Nascar Whelen Euro Series. For the Italian team led by Federico Monti the big star was Vladimiros Tziortzis.

The Cypriot driver first scored the pole position and then won dominating race one of the En2, at the wheel of his #5 FJ, confirming his lead in the championship standings. In addition Tziortzis, after a solid comeback, conquered a brilliant third place overall in EnPro and first place in the Junior trophy. “We achieved important results in both categories, and I deeply thank the team, which replaced the gearbox in a very short time, allowing me to race and win En2, we got essential points for the championship and for the whole team, and now we start thinking about next round in Germany.” says Tziortzis.

It was a learning weekend that showed positive aspects for the two young drivers Michaela Dorcicova and Stefani Mogorovic.

The young Dorcicova, competing in EnPro, finished Saturday’s race in a brilliant 13th place overall: “I did not want to push to the maximum,” emphasised the Slovakian-born driver, “I wanted to observe well the most experienced drives and see their approach on this circuit, which is very technical at times. Thanks to the team who followed and assisted me throughout the weekend”.Less fortunate also for her was Sunday’s race which was stopped by a puncture caused after a contact.

Rookie Mogorovic on Saturday had an electrical issue on her #1 Ford Mustang that ended her race, while on Sunday, after a solid performance, she finished 18th: “Challenging weekend with a fantastic team that immediately welcomed me as if I were one of their own; difficult races but thanks to which I learnt a lot about these cars which are very different from the ones I normally race in. For example, getting to grips with the gearbox is not a joke. I am very happy and satisfied with my first experience in Euronascar and I am glad I did it with Academy Motorsport,” said the young driver from the Czech Republic.

“It was an exciting weekend full of important points for Vladimiros in En2, and our girls did very well as they fought for their results despite the several difficulties they encountered. Stefani finished her first race in Euronascar and for this we are very satisfied and proud. Great team work the mechanics, as always, worked tirelessly to deliver top cars and whom I thank continuously,” said team owner Federico Monti.

Next round will be in Germany at the Oschersleben circuit on 23 September for the penultimate round of the 2023 Nascar Whelen Euro Series.
