Alex Caffi Motorsports: passport to the USA

26 juli 2018

Montecarlo, 26 july 2018. Alex Caffi Motorsports continues its involvement in the 2018 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, the spectacular series born in the United States: Chevrolet-engined cars, with 450 BHP and a weight of 1,200 kg. Four rounds in the “regular season”, including the only race on oval outside North America, before the “playoffs” (semi-finals and finals). The races are broadcast live on Fanschoice.tv, the Euro NASCAR YouTube channel, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Facebook page, motorsport.tv and various websites and Facebook pages in the world..
The monegasque fomer F1 driver’s team is growing and wants to offer young drivers, including those coming from karts, an alternative to Formulas to continue their activity. NASCAR offers the possibility of a professional career, with smaller investments compared to the main current promotional formulas in Europe. The team’s goal is to become a reference structure both in the old continent and overseas, to bring drivers to the USA, thanks to the possibilities offered by the participation in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (the best drivers in the various categories are invited to take part in races or test sessions in the various US series, as well as the prizegiving held in Charlotte – NC) and through the cooperation with local teams before the opening of a branch.
Alex Caffi Motorsports was the first team to  use the cooperation of an American Engineer, an oval specialist, whose experience was of great help to the team and drivers. The agreement with Energy Corse, an ideal source of drivers looking for new roads, is part of the strategy to help young talents.

Alex Caffi said “We are working to grow further. I have signed an agreement with Energy Corse, with which I raced in karting in the past. I would like to offer young drivers an alternative to the traditional promotional formulas, which have now reached a very high and expensive level of technology, with cars where talent and courage can still make a difference, more than the “suitcase”. The budget for a NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season is about 60,000 euros, but just think that the last classified driver in the NASCAR race at Indy earns about 200,000 dollars. We want to increase our relationships with the NASCAR universe to offer those who have talent new career opportunities”.

The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will return to the track in mid-September at Hockenheim (D) after the summer break
