Henrique Chaves signed a storming debut in the demanding GT World Challenge Europe, with a third place in the Monza 3 Hours race.

The Portuguese youngster debuted last weekend in the most competitive GT dedicated championship and showed why he is one of the most exciting drivers of the category, with an amazing performance that allowed his team – he shares the car with Miguel Ramos and Adrian Amstuzt – to see the chequered flag in third in the Pro-Am Class.

Adrian Amstuzt started from thirty-sixth and Henrique Chaves did the second stint of the race. He climbed from twenty-seventh to top-ten during his drive, leading the Pro-Am class, after a remarkable performance in a very difficult track, that was wet, but drying up.

Miguel Ramos ended the Barwell Motorsport’s Lamborghini Huracán Evo GT3’s race, crossing the finish line in third in the Pro-Am class, twenty-first overall.

“The qualifying didn’t go our way. The race was much better, and the team was very strong strategically. I had a puncture during my stint, there were so many debris in the track, but we took the opportunity to put slick tyres in. Afterwards, it was maximum attack and I recovered many places. In the end, with the good performance from Adrian and Miguel, we got the third place”, said Henrique Chaves.

After the race, the driver from Torres Vedras was enthusiastic with his debut in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, pleased with his performance and with the team result. “This is the most competitive GT grid in the world, so, getting here and doing the laptimes that he did is very pleasant. The result is, also, very good, so we have to be happy with the weekend outcome. We have margin to improve, but we are in the right path. I’m looking forward to next round”, said the Portuguese.

The next round of the GT World Challenge Europe, a Sprint Cup event, will be held at Magny-Cours at May 7th-9th.
