Alex Caffi Motorsport raises it in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series

Montecarlo (MC), April 10th 2018. Alex Caffi Motorsport is ready to raise the challenge in the 2018 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, the international series of car races brought directly to Europe from the United States. The races with similar cars enhance the racing spirit, the qualities and toughness of the driver in exciting wheel-to-wheel duels. The inaugural weekend of the 2018 season, which includes 12 events, will be on April 13-15 with the first rounds on the Spanish circuit of Valencia.

The Toyota Camry will be driven by Kenko Miura, the experienced 32-year-old Japanese with  direct support from the Japanese manufacturer, who will have the role of elite 1 and 2. For the elite club Austrian Andreas Kuchelbacher will take the wheel.

The 23-year-old Spanish Carmen Boix is the 2017 NASCAR Lady; the winner of the series’ female ranking last season, who has confirmed her commitment for 2018 with the Italian team coordinated by the former F1 driver, will be in elite 2 at the wheel of the Ford Mustang. Carmen has shown character and determination and returns to the series with greater experience to defend her title. Another Spanish presence is Borja Garcia in elite 1 on the same Ford Mustang.

Over 30 years of racing experience helps the team manager and coach role of Alex Caffi, who can at any time provide technical advice on car adjustments, but also important strategic tips for the race.

The spectacular and muscled NASCAR cars are all very similar, all driven by a powerful Chevrolet engine of almost 7000 cc developing 450 BHP for a weight of 1,200 kg, the transmission includes, for all cars, a 4-speed “H”-pattern gearbox and rear-wheel drive.

The race weekends are scheduled with free practice on Friday, 10-minute qualifying plus Superpole on Saturday. Two competitions are held at each event: the saturday race and the sunday race. The weekend takes place in a very scenic setting including a presentation of the crews on the starting grid, special guests and cheerleaders’ show.
